Areas of expertise

Words, worlds and audiences.

Every type of content has its own context, audience and purpose.

Games & Entertainment

After immersing myself in the game's narrative world, I get to know its characters and learn who they are, so I can find the right words for them to express themselves and stay true to their personalities.

Players can then become fully immersed in the game, without ever having to think about the work that went into making it happen.

Dialogues · Quests · Lore · Character profiles · UI & in-game text · Technical & regulatory content

Marketing & Advertising

My role is to align with the company's vision, capture the heart of its message and bring its unique identity to the forefront, helping it increase visibility, strengthen its customer base and drive sales in the French market.

Brand content · Campaigns · Advertising · Press releases · Promotional content · Corporate communications

Fashion & Luxury

Putting trends into words, presenting collections, giving readers the keys to an elegant, contemporary style without ever making it look effortless.

It means finding the right words, then infusing them with the spirit of the brand or designer, its image and values, so they resonate with the target audience.

Editorial content · Fashion articles · Brand content · Product & collection content · Brand storytelling

Publishing

Immersing myself in a work of fiction to capture its spirit, style, voice and authorial intent, then recreating them faithfully in French while keeping the target readership in mind.

Light novels · Narrative content · Literary content · Cultural content · Editorial texts

Travel & Hospitality

To capture the atmosphere of a place, convey the experience and inspire French-speaking audiences to discover it.

Destination content · Travel experiences · Hospitality content · Brand communications · Editorial content

A text refined by an expert, with the whole picture in mind.

Revision

For content that is faithful to the meaning, consistent and true to the original.

Subtitling

For natural audiovisual content despite technical constraints.

A professional approach

Method at every step

The quality of my work is apparent to the client, while remaining unnoticed by the reader.

A translation project involves several stages, from assessing its feasibility through to delivery and completion.

  1. 1

    Preparation

At the beginning of a project, I go through a preparation stage.

I analyse the English content, familiarise myself with the target audience, the style guide to follow and the terminology to use, check any relevant standards, carry out subject-matter research, and more.

  2. 2

    Translation

During the translation phase, I bring the content into French, adapting it where necessary, while ensuring accuracy, fluency and linguistic consistency and working in line with the client's style guide.

I make sure not to add to or omit anything from the original text, to use the appropriate terminology and to preserve its style and register.

I also check applicable standards and local requirements.

  3. 3

    Self-checks

This stage involves comparing the translated text with the original, then proofreading the translation independently to check spelling, stylistic and semantic consistency, accuracy, any omissions or additions, formatting and more, before delivery.

  4. 4

    Post-production

During this final phase, I gather the client's feedback and make any necessary corrections before archiving and closing the project.
